Jewish leaders bitterly opposed the rise of Christianity. Much of this history has been censored out of the Talmud in response to Christian persecution. During the middle ages, Jews actively participated in polemical debates; the reward for a Jewish "victory" was a choice of death or expulsion. Largely as a result of persecution, we have been strongly discouraged from interfaith theological dialogue of any type (although to be fair, there are also good theological reasons to avoid it as well).

Islam at its beginning was quite hostile to Judaism; in that religion's golden age in the early middle ages it was much more accommodating but things went downhill very quickly. Today the number of Jews living openly in Muslim countries is numbered in the thousands rather than in the millions.

Dogs from the street can have all the desirable qualities that one could want from pet dogs. Most adopted stray dogs are usually humble and exceptionally faithful to their owners as if they are grateful for this kindness. -- H.M. Bhumibol Adulyadej
