  •  I know exactly how you feel. Your finger will (19+ / 0-)

    heal soon than my hand.

30 years ago this month, the trunk of my '82 Toyota Corrolla (lift back) fell on my hand, nearly locking my hand in the mechianicisms (sp??).  There was a crease in the back of my hand for hours afterwards.  Then my hand started going numb.  Since none of the bones were broken, let alone cracked, the ER people thought I was making the numbness and other pain up, but put me in a constructed splint anyway, saying it'd all be better in a couple of weeks.  My hand was still getting numb in June, but since they had only one Othro doc on base, I couldn't be seen by him cause, you know... someone with a real injury might come in.  "They" let me see a doc off base - oh, it's probably carpal tunnel, it'll go away......  My hand hurt almost constantly - it felt like a nail was being driven through my hand.  Finally got into a specialist in '85, put into a brace, xrays, scans, electrical tests and I had surgery in 1986, I think (it was the same day as Andrew and Fergie married).  The day after surgery was awesome - no pain what so ever.

However, within a couple of years, the discomfort returned.  I've spent the last 30 years with my right hand hurting almost constantly.  I used to do things with my right hand that are now done left handed - wiping, using a toothbrush, and whatnot.

MFP - my hand as usual - MFP is that the State of Iowa is changing their rules about pseudoephedrine products..... "They" will allow for only about half the current amount, which doesn't cover an entire month (something like 29 days worth) and then half again for the year...... unless of course you get a prescription from a doctor..... I'm now in a position to get that prescription, but what about all the other people who aren't as fortunate as myself????

for decongesting. Everything else gives me a hangover.

When you come to find how essential the comfort of a well-kept home is to the bodily strength and good conditions, to a sound mind and spirit, and useful days, you will reverence the good housekeeper as I do above artist or poet, beauty or genius.
