  •  well, it isn't a FP, but (16+ / 0-)

New Year's Day of 1993, my (now) lovely husband sliced off the tip of a finger in the process of building something with his table saw. 911 was called, and who showed up, but my first husband, hung over and ineffective (he and I were the paramedics, but I was out of town visiting the parents, and evidently he had gotten severely drunk/stoned New Year's Eve).

He tried 8 sticks to get an IV on now lovely husband in order to administer morphine, who suffered through them and insisted on the 9th, which was successful, finally got the morphine. Recovered fully, though the scar is still there.

We got married New Year's Eve 2006, and every year I chuckle wickedly at how things turn out, given enough time.

Anyone who scoffs at happiness needs to take their soul back to the factory and demand a better one. -driftglass
