plans on running for Governor, other than wishful thinking? I have my ear to the ground in a lot of the right places, and I haven't heard anything that would indicate he's running, although I admittedly also haven't heard anything to indicate he's not. Still, it seems rather against his nature, as he's fairly risk-adverse and would have to give up his house seat.

but it does say Kind for Wisconsin.  And his latest message on the main page.  Not much to base it on, though, without further indications.

        before the 2012 election?

I'll admit that I'm not the most frequent visitor to Ron Kind's campaign website, but "Bringing [Insert State Name Here] values to Washington" is quite possibly the most common message frame for congressional candidates out there.

some decided local issues of state government, and then shoring his left flank on gay marriage and the fact that Kind has been ambitiously looking for a move upwards for several cycles now.

That your constituents care about anything odd? I mean, Tammy Baldwin's had plenty to say about Walker's wrong-headed decision not to expand BsdgerCare, among other state issues, but nobody's taken that as a sign that She's running for Governor. Same with Mark Pocan. While I'm sure that he'd love to move up, I don't think that Kind will run for anything he'd have to give up his house seat for unless he's more or less handed the Primary and feels he has an at least 50% chance of winning the the general.

Oh, and pretty soon, supporting Marriage Equality will be basically a prerequisite for not getting primarried in the Democratic Party.
