Senator Heidi Heitkamp (D-ND) and Senator Claire McCaskill (R-MO) all the more courageous - their states aren't that much ahead of WV in marriage equality.

They're worth 10 of Senator Manchin - each.

      •  Sigh... (0+ / 0-)

You don't have to rub it in.

At least he will enthusiastically support it once the polls show 50% + 1 are in favor. He is a tool, not a theocrat.

      •  Well, McCaskill knows she's toast next time around (0+ / 0-)

She barely won against "self-aborting rape" Akin, she was very fortunate to be up against a such a rat-fucker.   When you know you have no chance of re-election in 6 years.

I think Manchin is being very short-sighted.  6 years is a LONG time for people to re-evaluate their stands on LGBT issues, and he could well be way behind thinking by the time 2018 rolls around.
