I missed when you posted the last two seats for NJ, but these were better, particularly because there is this belief that "Long Island is moving away from us"

NY-04 was a big step up.  In 2008 it was only 2% more Democratic than the average district.  Carolyn McCarthy is entrenched, but this is at least a seat we'd need to not sleepwalk for in case of an open seat.  In 2012 it went to 5% more Democratic than the average seat, meaning it's clearly safe.

NY-02 is more surprising though.  I knew Obama was going to win it, but I didn't realize he was going to by a 3% margin.  The seat went from R+2 to EVEN - not a bad drift for us.  Not only is this better than Obama did in NY-01, but better than NY-03 as well, where Obama only won by around a 2% spread.  More interesting, while NY-03 went to the right by around 1%, NY-02 went to the left by around 2.3%.  Peter King holds the eight-most Obama-voting Republican seat in the country.

Little wonder he's been tacking more independent lately.  Honestly I wonder if he and Steve Israel should have picked opposite seats to run in.
