You don't have to agree with or condone my faith, but you certainly do not have the right to excoriate it.
I have not written anything about your faith, only about your statements regarding my life and praxis.

regarding your life, praxis, faith/non-faith, et al, unless you refer to the main thrust of my point.  I have merely asserted that (in)tolerance cuts both ways.  If you want acceptance, you have to grant acceptance.

I will, of course, grant that one does not have to be ALL accepting.  I do not accept bigotry, for example, or racism.  Those are loathsome to me, and anathema to my beliefs. I refuse to even entertain a discussion with someone espousing those beliefs.  I do not trust myself to hold my temper.  I do not trust myself to not cause my point of view to be subverted by reactionism.  That's a personal choice.

I am always willing to meet on common ground, and am always willing to learn more and educate myself, especially with regard to people who have reasonable, but differing, points of view.  The one thing I will not, however, participate in is ad hominem attacks.  Those are ultimately destructive, and can cause losses where there could, and should, have been gains.

if by word or omission, I have given the impression that I have targeted any of your beliefs, then I sincerely and deeply apologize.  I want, crave, and need an open and frank discussion, not a vicious cut-throat battle over whether or not faith is a bad thing.
