    at all though so many people love the book.

    In 1972, we rode the train through Austria and it was just so gorgeous...breathtaking, really.

    I bought a used copy of the poems Giuseppe Ungaretti after gmoke mentioned them.  They just came, today.

    I just opened the book and read this one:

    page 111

    At the foot of evening's passage
    Flows a limpid
    Olive-covered stream

    That merges with the flickering forgetful fire.

    In the smoke now I hear frogs and crickets,

    Where the grasses tremble.

    The Italian poem is on the other side.
