and getting a job in a STEM field abroad? More and more people are doing it these days.

I'm an Aspie and it's something I'm seriously considering (though not in a STEM field).

Family members have jobs that keep them anchored here, and they're my only means of support. Believe me, I'd live nothing more than to leave, but it's just not an option.

Seems I'm in a no win situation.

I write a series called 'My Life as an Aspie', documenting my experiences before and after my A.S. diagnosis as a way to help fellow Aspies and parents of Aspies and spread awareness. If I help just one person by doing this, then I've served a purpose.

job in hand first. In my case, I'd be starting a business in a place where it's really cheap to start a business, and with a local partner to help. I've always had a hard time working for someone else and usually ended up getting fired, so starting a business and being my own boss is the best option for me.
