    We gave him a sedative and he was in his cage.  Feeding is a bit of a problem I would think on a long haul.  We only went 400 miles.

    I would have water and food bowls in the carrier and stop to feed them ouside the vehicle.   I would never let them out of the carrier until I arrived.unless they were leashed. I would have a separate
    litter box in a separate cage.  You could lift them out and let them stay in the litter carrier for awhile ....Then stop and empty the litter box.  Be prepared.. It is quite a move and it is going to get stinky....unless you do carry them in a trailer.
    You have to think about maybe them having car sickness as well.   I would be prepared to stop and open windows ever so often for fresh air.   Check with your vet on the best way and most comfortable for the little travelers.
