driver I am and how I can't figure out whny I never have accidents or get tickets.

And btw, how old are you- 12? Because your age identification seems to be about there.  When fifty seems really, really ancient and you just know when  you reach that age in about 2 centuries, you'll wish you were dead rather than being that old.

    •  You think 50 year olds have the physical reflexes (9+ / 0-)

      20 year olds?

I'm going to overlook your insult since you clearly know nothing about me.  You see, in my decades upon this earth, I've learned about this thing called medical science. And I don't take it personally when someone points out a fact we know about physical aging.

      •  I'm in my 50s and still have lightning reflexes (7+ / 0-)

I'm quicker (objectively measured) than some 20-something gamers that I know.  However, a) I know that I'm an outlier, b) even so, I'm not as quick now as I was fifteen years ago, and c) I know that my reflexes are slower when I'm tired or sick or other factors (like a car full of chatting passengers) are affecting me.  So I slow down.

When I got my first motorcycle an older biker told me "don't assume that the cars out there can't see you - assume that they're out to kill you."  That led me to ride with caution and awareness.  I think the same applies to people holding guns - don't assume that they don't know if the gun is loaded, assume that they're out to kill you.  You'll always be aware of where you are relative to their line of fire.  (If you have the chance.)

      •  Yes, I definitely have at least as good reflexes (0+ / 0-)

as I did in my twenties.  I might not have the same level of strength, but my reflexes are just fine.  Sorry that you have so little knowledge of the medical science you rely upon.

If you don't want to be insulted, try not insulting a whole group of people about whom you clearly know nothing.

        •  Oh please. (6+ / 0-)

I'm in my 50s and I don't have the reflexes I had in my 20s.

I'm neither as flexible nor as fast. 35+ years of driving have also made me complacent at times to the extent where I scare myself. I don't imagine that's uncommon.
