    •  No. I even mentioned it up the thread. (0+ / 0-)

It's basically the same machine, Rupert's machine. Why should that make anyone believe her publicly expressed opinions about Blair are honest? Not saying a propaganda machine couldn't convince any population of many falsehoods, but that wouldn't make it so. Don't see your point here.

the point is to influence them to change their own minds by presenting the illusion that her opinions are honest.

This may be "damning" for Blair, but their propaganda machine--just like ours--will pretend that's simply not the case, and Blair will be duly canonized in time. It benefits the 1%, because it will give the Brits something to be divided over.

And on and on it goes.

the attempted rehabilitation of the image of George W. in the US by our press.

There's precedent for this--I'm not saying that actually works, just that they'll try because they think anyone who isn't a one percenter is stupid  ;)

            •  They'll try, sure. But there are limits. (1+ / 0-)

Not everybody is rehabilitatable. I don't think they'll get anywhere with Dubya. If they could have, they would have already made a go of it. Nobody remembers 'St. Ronnie' anymore so they want a replacement. Blair has a better chance than Dubya does, but the true full on right wingers are preferred subjects. So the big push is on for Maggie and remains for Ronnie. Bigger evil goes to the front of the line. I'll expect Cheney gets the treatment ahead of Shrub.
