We don't fleece our own. At least not deliberately. I would be very surprised if Beck or Rush even have an actual opinion on anything. We don't have end of the world scammers ripping us off the way they not only have but, in many cases, their "leaders" encourage. Beck wouldn't be where he is without Goldline ripoffs and "preparedness kits" warning about civilization's collapse because of some obscure Obama policy he can't even get the rest of his party to go along with apparently. Are there democratic hucksters? Sure. But they usually do it the old fashioned way, taking bribes. Something that's been around since forever. This cottage industry of actually trying to rip off your fellow travelers is a phenomenon unique to their side alone.

just wondering how many who donated to Obama's re-election thought/knew he was an eyelash away from Romney

comparing that link with where he was (using the same metrics - so if one is "biased" apparently so is the other to a similar extent) in 2008

It is not difficult to see substantial "change" for Obama from 2008 to 2012, for sure!

But again, is that type of change what all of his 2008 donors thought they were getting wrt that meme - somehow I think not.

Of course, whether they were fleeced or not is probably a matter of opinion depending how cynical one is, and so forth.

Show me the liberal "end of civilization" preparedness kits. Show me Thom Hartman or Amy Goodman hawking any of these things. Or the liberal Utopias being built in the middle of nowhere scamming people for solicitations like that place up in Idaho. Glenn Beck proposed his own Gault wonderland that would mooch off taxpayers in Michigan. Don't see Rachel Maddow doing that. These people hate their audience and can't believe they can scam them as much as they do. And their audience falls for it. Meanwhile Obama and most democrats won't go anywhere near Democracy Now! or most other truly liberal talk shows for fear they would actually have to answer tough questions. We aren't like them. Yes, there are people on the left who let the liberals do the tough lifting and take all the credit. No one is denying that. But the entire liberal media isn't some get rich quick scheme the way it is on the right.

      •  Barack Obama took that test, so we know what his (0+ / 0-)

        True values are?

Or did someone plug them in, based on their perception of his actions? His actions, of course, are influenced by the facts on the ground.

It's easy for me (and you, I presume) to saw that it's  never ok to go against international law. But if I am the president, and I have good intelligence of an imminent attack on civilians; if the Security Council vetos action, it's a lot harder for me to stand by and do nothing.

I look at the situation in Syria and the President's responses. I might score them one way for purposes of this test. You might score them another. Neither of those necessarily reflect the true values he holds.

If he's taken the test himself, I'll accept that "eyelash" assessment. If not, meh...

        •  I imagine that somebody completed the (0+ / 0-)

test for him based on the "actions speak louder that words" premise.

As they did for Mitt, so in both cases their absolute positions on the chart might be a bit off but the comparison of their relative positions to each other is apt.

Similarly, the * change * in position between 2008 and 2012 for Obama would be valid, even if the absolute placement is not completely 100% accurate.
