have a LONG history in government service. Simpson in the Senate, 78-95. Judd in the House and Senate, 81-2011. Conrad in the Senate 86-2013 including time as chairman of the Senate Budget Cmte.

If they're so smart, why did they lead us into financial/economic disaster in the first place, and why didn't they get us out of it while they were our elected officials in charge?

Why couldn't Simpson and Bowles obtain the required number of votes to get their own commission members to issue an official report by the commission and had to go out on their own instead?

    Trust them? Hell, NO!

comeback kids? What's that number, 16 tn dollars the Fed used to prop up these oh so intelligent shysters, fixers?

Hum, wouldn't a one trillion investment in the safety net provide more than enough?

Why worry about percentage of GDP to government expenditure? Instead, raise the money you need to cover the expenses incurred. And who has the money, the .5 per-centers.
