    at almost any big box retailer or sporting goods store.  They cost anywhere between $3.00 and $5.00 ($2.99 at Harbor Freight), come with their own flint and striker, and can start a fire in the rain if used correctly.  It helps to have a sharp knife to make some magnesium shavings, but it's not necessary as the striker can be used as a scraper.

    A persons word used to be their contract, now people use contracts to get out of keeping their word.

      3 to 6 inch long piece of hacksaw blade that includes one of the holes in the end. It doubles as a knife / saw, and is a great magnesium scraper -- also, this way, you don't risk getting shavings from the starter into something else. I'm old-school enough to peel fruit with my Leatherman...
