gun control measures would ever stop anything like this. What a stupid and meaningless diary.

The proposed gun safety measures don't address this. They are still in the fantasy land of responsible gun owners.

      1. Keep your gun. You are responsible for all uses of your gun. Felony failure to secure a deadly weapon. Lifetime loss of gun ownership privilege. Very large fine. Many hours of community service.

      2. Do not discharge your gun by accident. Felony random discharge of a deadly weapon. Lifetime loss of gun ownership privilege. Very large fine. Many hours of community service.

The sad truth is that we cannot control their guns only they can control their guns.

In the meantime, background checks, assault weapons ban, and magazine limits seem to be the best we can do.

And yes the 2nd Amendment does mention the word keep, but the RkBRers tell me it is a decorative word and probably means you should keep a loaded gun on the kitchen counter. They have no ID.

to allow slave owners to go after humans that tried to flee them. It's an anachronism.

The NRA is nothing more than a front for millionaire and billionaire gun manufacturers(who prefer to remain hidden) who have deluded Americans into believing the gob't/or the 'other' is coming to get them. When was the last time anyone saw the owner of an arms manufacturing company say anything in their own defense.  That should tell us something.

Not opposed to all firearm ownership but the way it is now is insanity.

          be responsible for them.

A four year old shoots a 6 year old and the reporter says no charges will be filed against the 4 year old. How insane is that? The 4 year old walks into a gun store . . .

No mention is even made in the story of the responsible gun owner who oopsie lost control of their rightful firearm. Because the 4 year old was obviously not the rightful gun owner, or was he? This is so crazy.

We have such a backasswards idea of gun responsibility. Fantasy that never meets reality.

gun ownership were enforced and followed very strictly. I think people thought that way about guns.

Only recently have guns become toys, like video games, to be carelessly tossed about.
