  •  Who decided not to fix the Filibuster at (8+ / 0-)

    the start of the Session?

Were Republicans in control of that decision?

you do realize after 8 years of Bush the various departments were stacked with incompetent fools and Obama was not allowed to fill many positions.

That Dems don't vote in lockstep. That we had 60 votes on paper, not that any hot issue would actually garner all of them.

You are naive and spreading bullshit.

    •  beat them at the ballot box (6+ / 0-)

get enough progressives elected who will vote for our policies.

until then we have to deal with the situation we have. it's messy and usually nobody's happy with the end result.

      that's democracy.

you want to strong arm and force your way.   you want a dictatorship.

giving Republicans a daily platform to spew bullshit that plenty in the media would cover.

        and say it took courage.

i prefer the talking filibuster but there was another proposal that probably should have been the one we went with.

of the Rand Paul show.  That "talking filibuster" that we think the mere mention of will send the GOP scurrying away from the very idea of every daring to filibuster again... those 13-hours did more for his national profile and 2016 presidential campaign then the last 13 months combined.

So yeah, lets make it policy that every week the GOP must (MUST!!) send one of their lime-light seekers to take the national stage for hours on end with free media coverage to talk about their ass-hat side of the issue du jour.

          BRILLIANT!
