A crucial issue that the Goposaurs would rather distract from. That's part of it, anyway. It kind of energizes us, too, as you may have noticed.

      I ♥ President Barack Obama.

I don't think this is the big plan. But just say that Hillary is the candidate- hypothetically, of course. She comes out strong  against these crazy new (insert dogwhistle here) politicians who have log jammed DC and threatened seniors with cat chow.

Seniors (and those of us who used to have retirement savings) are encouraged to start thinking about those go-go years of double digit returns back when Billy Jeff and Hillary were in the White House and there were deals to be made on the Hill.  (We will ignore the big impeachment strategy, for the sake of hindsight here.)

She gets to position herself as being an agent of change for the party, while dragging back in all the aging dems who reminisce about the pre-hopey changey DNC days (more dogwhistle here). They also may be able to peel away some seniors who wouldn't typically give a dem the time of day until somebody threatens their check and they have a chance to symbolically vote against Obama one more time.

It's ugly. But it's undoubtedly already appeared in the nooks and crannies of skanky little brains, like Carville's. One man's misfortune converted into another woman's opportunity.

      •  Where's Biden in all this planning? (2+ / 0-)

Hillary isn't necessarily going to cake walk into the White House.

And Biden supports Obama's position (from what I've read).

And, for that matter, I'd wager that Hillary supports it too.

    •  I 'think' because this was already revealed as a (0+ / 0-)

political strategy by Nancy Pelosi in the past, a strategy she was taken by, that political analysis has more to do with what option the proposal leaves Republicans in Congress, not the people, a distinction you advise above. To agree with the President, to agree with Elizabeth Warren or to be further right on the issue than the president. How are any of those options a win for them?
