  •  This is the unadulterated truth (6+ / 0-)
now we must sidestep brand politics and create something other, outside of it. we need to stop fighting it or trying to change it. we need to move on and create our own reality.
We have been wasting a lot of precious time fighting each other in this country.  We need to get past political labels and focus on areas of commonality.  The current blogathon is a great example.  What the plutocrats have done is to focus on ways to divide us, not just by political parties, but also within political parties (witness Obama's incredibly shabby treatment of the Progressive Caucus).

The Occupy Movement did much good to break down those barriers in that it did not allow itself to be hijacked by politicians.  That allowed Occupy to cut across the currently defined political boundaries caused by our major parties.

I personally believe that most people in this country instinctively know something is wrong, but their instincts are being subverted by misdirection on the part of the plutocrats who use hate radio, Faux news, and the fundamentalist churches to spread their lies.  IMHO, I do believe that most people are fundamentally good, but have been misdirected by the false fears that the plutocrats are messenging.

If we focus our activism on those issues that most people have in common and do so without labels, maybe we can begin the re-education of the American public as to the real truth and the real enemies to their well being.  And with that, we will be able to overcome the current political stranglehold that the plutocracy has upon our govt. and our lives.

Ralph Reed. 1990s. but our outcome? SANE SECULAR STABLE SUSTAINABLE

regionalize economies... small business and find creative ways to make a living reusing... whether it's art, furniture, gifts, clothes...

it may be trickle up politics, but is certainly a willingness to downsize our consumerism and change the idea that "better" means bigger and more stuff.

"better" could mean more freedom with less debt, better designed living spaces that are smaller and smarter and easier to live in... they would cost less, use less resource.

there are many wagon trains upon which we can ride and explore the new world as it unfolds.
