Or we need a category with that name, and this should be there.

I appreciate historical resonances as much as the next geek. I don't think I can do "loco..." at this time. This word touches on something I've been trying to hide all my life. Maybe "levelers" is more to my liking.

That's the trivial side. I always learn something from Unitary Moonbat. Today I learned that "charters" had already taken a strangle-hold on politics long before the (Johnson, was it?) case where Corporations became incarnated as persons.

So we've always had a version of "legal fiction provides extra rights" whether legally proclaimed or not.

Made up primarily of workingmen and reformers, the Locofocos were opposed to state banks,
Why the opposition to State Banks? Was that because they were in the hands of the Rich? I ask because reading about North Dakota's State Bank, and Australia's before they killed it, made me think that might be one thing we could do here, and on a Federal level as well, which would break the grip of Wall Street. Or at least begin to loosen it.

If Republicans said every 3rd person named "Smith" should hang, we'd bargain them to every 7th. Then we'll see apologia written praising this most pragmatic compromise. There's our losing formula.
