  •  Everyone has forgotten the Public Option, or (23+ / 0-)

    is pretending they did.

They talked about ditching it, and got HUGE pushback.  So, they started proposing various weakened forms.

State level only.  Only for people in certain income brackets.  Only if certain cost targets weren't met...

And they got person after person to agree "Well, ok, I guess....".

Then they argued that since only weak forms of the Public Option could pass anyway now, it wouldn't be a big deal to shitcan to the whole idea.

And people fucking bought that shit.

So, yeah.  "Here's a cut with some sweetners!  How about that?"  "How about we take a few sweetners away?"  "Well, you already agreed to cuts, why are you pretending to stand on principle NOW?!?!"

    •  Yep. This "trust me" game has been tried (10+ / 0-)

one too many times.  The track record of this bunch is NOT good.  And once again, the Obama machine shows its lack of respect for the very people who helped put him in office.  They must believe we are all nothing but dupes just sitting around waiting to be scammed.  More fools them for grossly underestimating us.   If the blowback from this latest attempted screw-job doesn't get through their thick heads that we are on to them, wait until 2014 and they try to blame the electoral blow-out by the Republicans on us.  This administration is looking at three to four more years of pain with the Republicans pummeling them, most of their supporters tuning them out completely, a bunch of folks in the House, especially, and Senate who have to run for re-election pissed as hell at them and scared witless about losing their seats.  For the smartest guy in the room (or thinks he is!), this is one colossal fuck up.  It did NOT have to be this way.  Idiots, fools!
