    Now there you go again.  Our system of justice does not require a person to prove that they are innocent.  It requires that the government must prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt or the person is held to be not guilty.  That isn't the same thing as innocent.  People often commit crimes but the government is unable to sustain a case against them beyond a reasonable doubt for a variety of reasons.  That does not make them innocent.  Just, one more time, not guilty.  This is not nit picking.  There is a huge difference.

    In this case the government didn't even have a reason to charge the person let alone prove his guilt which left the burden of asserting his rights on him.  That is ass backwards.  You shouldn't have to prove that you are competent to carry a weapon.  In our system it's up to the government to prove that you are not.   Will the government pay for his attorney?  It should.
