  •  Why don't people talk about "violence" in general? (1+ / 0-)

Unless restricting guns is one of the politically easiest approaches (hah!) what's the point in isolating some cases of violence based on a particular weapon being used?

After Birmingham, the nation focused on racial violence, not on requiring background checks for buying bombs.

The violence in schools that drives children to suicide and emotionally damages the survivors is gun-free.

Spending limited attention and political capital on "gun violence" weakens efforts to combat bullying, rape, and domestic violence. Not to mention the international violence that can only be prevented by keeping Democrats in office.

Freedom isn't free. Patriots pay taxes.
