  •  I really liked the premiere (4+ / 0-)

    As a setup for how awful 1968 is about to be; they are in January.. in a few short months, they will have multiple assassinations of significant social turmoil; and the Vietnam war perception will begin to really turn against the government.  

    Beginning the season by dwelling on death seemed fitting.

      they have a high hurdle to jump in trying to depict 1968.

      i figured it was the calm before the storm.

      and the focus on death seemed appropriate to me too.

      i know i am not the only person who lived through 1968 who remembers it as a year of death.

      There was a headline on their New Year's Day paper, which mentioned the "end of a violent year." That kind of thought/story could only have been referring to 1968, but they have it set on Jan 1, 1968 . . .

      "Lone catch of the moon, the roots of the sigh of an idea there will be the outcome may be why?"--from a spam diary entitled "The Vast World."
