    it kinda seems like that ship has sailed in San Francisco already. I know Bay Area families with kids and none of them feel they can afford to live in the city. It may be workable as a childless adult, but with kids it would be really hard without loads of money.

    The rich have priced everybody else out of Manhattan too so I guess it is the same kind of thing.

      in the mission area you would see there are lots of kids here.
      A place without families seems like a horrible place to me.

      A lot of people do move away when they have kids, but for various reasons. The biggest one I have heard from those I know is schools, and the difficulty getting into one they want here.

      We need to look at the big picture here and realize we all lose if we create cities that only cater to the most wealthy.
