Composium of the history and current status of our understanding of the world.

Do you know of any informtion that ties earthquakes and tectonic movement to the magnetic field and shield ,which some scientists say has been altering at an unprecedended rate right now?

Offer your heart some Joy every day of your life, and spread it along to others.

the iron-nickel liquid outer core. The magnetic field does vary in intensity over time and undergoes reversals in polarity 3-4 times per million years. These reversals have been preserved in the iron-bearing minerals found in lava flows. Detection of the record of polar reversals in sea floor basalts provided one of the first compelling pieces of evidence for the plate tectonic theory.

I am not aware that the current rate of magnetic variation is anything but ordinary.

presented on this very idea, Truedelphi, and now I will have to postpone finding it (this darn move to a new place and the interruption of just about everything in my life, except Starbucks's free wi-fi service). As I recall, yes, there was a direct correlation stated in the thesis and the magnetic field is definitely changing over the eons affecting, the writer thinks, the very shield, itself. There are a couple of 'heavies' that checked in with this diary since its inception, and I may have to knock on their cyber door and see if the can shed some light on the matter, one way or the other. I only remember I was sold on this lady's thesis and I believe she was doing her grad work at UCLA. I'll get back to you on your comment and thank you for posting same.

Treat the world (yourself, and others) as part of a living organism. Everyone and everything will benefit.
