  •  BTW, I'm fully looking forward for the (8+ / 0-)

improvements in the states where Medicaid is expanded being contrasted to the continued health declines where it's denied.  I expect that the pressure will build and some red states will choose to accept the federal dollars so they can have healthier populations and ultimately lower health care costs all around.  At least, I believe that will be the outcome, in direct contrast to those who proclaim that increasing Medicaid will bankrupt the states and federal government more quickly.

I also expect to see population losses from those red states as people migrate to blue states and I will be very happy if blue states get more congressional districts in 2022's election when redistricting comes around again.  Though by that time, with gerrymandering, we may wind up with more Republican office holders at the state level which will then result in more Republicans in Congress.  At this point I have no confidence in the Democratic party to get its act together even though they've seen the Republican playbook.

Not likely to happen quickly enough. It will take nearly that long for the evidence to manifest itself.

    •  I'll take years (0+ / 0-)

and they will say but we have more poor people and more of them brown/black people. That's why. If you look at the people that matter we are as good a New Hampshire or Delaware

    •  Why would Red states be moved to have healthier (1+ / 0-)

populations THEN? They aren't doing that now. It's not like "good health" is some crazy CT or a hopelessly confused issue like global warming. I'm pretty much sure if non-Obamacare states' life expectancies were to sink way lower than those with it, the money boys and the politicians wouldn't give a fuck. They'll just export all those terrible health cases to states that DO take care of them. Win-win for them.
