  •  How did the Democratic Party get its name? (0+ / 0-)

The long tradition of opposition to concentrated wealth and banking interests was ended in 1976 when Buckley v. Valeo integrated the major parties with plutocrat money. Inequality soon followed because there was no democratic mechanism for redress of grievances. The ruling class regularly crashes the system with no corrective response as was previously available, for example under FDR. Money in politics is the elite insurance policy that must be cancelled if there is to be egalitarian democracy as Tocqueville described it, or a square deal as TR called it. The reseach is cited at moneyouttapolitics.org.
