    to the US but only a threat to US interests, primarily denying access by US oil companies and BP to Iraqi oil plus the overlapping Israeli interest in removing Saddam as a potential threat.

    WMDs and were the pre-planned pretext along with strong hints and misinformation placed in the corporate media about Saddam's (non-existent) ties to 9/11. They knew it was BS. They fixed the "facts" around the policy.

    Now the British and American oil companies are back and with the country broken it cannot possibly a potential threat to Israel in the foreseeable future.

    The neocon chickenhawk sociopaths are smiling giving high-fives, no doubt pleased with the results.

    Now if they could only persuade Iraq to pass the former "benchmark" Iraq oil law they would no doubt view the Iraq invasion as having been extremely successful.
