    The show has not done a great job with this so far, focusing on the angst of the white characters pretty much exclusively. The most significant black character so far has been the Drapers' maid, who was treated horribly.

    I am thinking/hoping this is about to change. I will be disappointed if it doesn't. Peggy's close mentor-like relationship with her secretary seems like a positive step. And Dawn, Don's secretary, seemed much more empowered in the short time we saw her in the two-hour premiere.

    But we are still seeing everything through the lens of aging, white characters. You raise a good point.
