college education. I advanced on two things - my appearance was one.  Although not fair, it got me noticed and allowed them to see that I was intelligent and a good worker. I started as a clerk in an insurance company. You can't get much lower than that in office hierarchy.

While I did eventually take some college courses, I never got a degree, but still ended up owning my own small copy/design company.

Yes, I have been very lucky, but I also worked hard and  planned each step to get to the next job I wanted in the company.

Most young women of that era wanted to get married. They would work in an office until that happened. Once they had a baby (usually fairly quickly), they quit and wallowed in their life.

They did not know about Betty Frieden, nor would they have agreed with her. They were young and enthusiastic about their chosen "profession."

It’s the Supreme Court, stupid! Followed by: It's always the Supreme Court! Progressives will win only when we convince a majority that they, too, are Progressive.
