  •  if it was because they hated obama, then bomb (0+ / 0-)

something specific to him.  but the boston marathon?  not specific enough.

    imo.  could be wrong.

after all, they do hate our freedoms,.

Before you diagnose yourself with depression or low self-esteem, first make sure that you are not, in fact, just surrounding yourself with a-holes - William Gibson. (-9.75 / -9.05)

    •  The problem with Right Wing "terrorists" to the (0+ / 0-)

extent that they exist, is that they are Americans, too.

Foreign groups really don't care what we think of them or their cause.  Twisted as he was, Tim McVeigh was making a statement about federal over-reach in its violence at Waco and Ruby Ridge when he bombed a federal government building in Oklahoma City. Somehow or another , he believed that it would resonate with at least some of the American public.

However, as has been pointed out elsewhere in the thread, Eric Rudolph bombed the Atlannta Olympics out of anger at the government.  That's closer to the Boston bombing, although the Olympics are a much more nationalistic event (countries, including the US, enter teams).

And we can never forget the UnaBomber.

If it's the work of a lone head case, reasons for rationality go right out the door.

LG: You know what? You got spunk. MR: Well, Yes... LG: I hate spunk!
