Their base is going out in tangents and they have no control.  The public just doesn't have any idea how vulnerable the GOP is for re-election in 2014 and why RNC Chair Reince Priebus is such a colossal idiot and horrible RNC Chair.

If we defeat the chained CPI proposal, then we can take a breather for a bit and concentrate fire power against the GOP running for re-election.  In my opinion, ALL the GOP in the House are vulnerable but that's because I debate conservatives for breakfast.

    •  That's the way it looks today. (9+ / 0-)

The Tea Party is planning to reorganize and reassert themselves for 2014 and there are billionaires backing them.  They even plan to use tactics used successfully by OWS.

Besides that, politics is never stable. There is always some surprise move or event in the world/nation which changes things overnight.

The way it looks today won't be the way it looks 12 months from now. That's almost guaranteed.

The Tea Party just shot themselves in the foot in 2012 and today.  If they even try to reorganize, they're just going to doom themselves in years to come.

I don't see the Tea Party having the leverage they did anymore.

Remember, we have brains.  Tea Party people don't.

I'm just saying there are literally billions of dollars behind their efforts and they are making noises about "resurging."

The problem the New Fair Deal aims to treat is also straight out of Mr. Obama’s 2012 playbook: fairness and ending the influence of special interests in Washington.

“Tea party meets Occupy on Main Street,” Mr. Clancy calls it. “We disagree with the Occupyers on a lot of the solutions, but we agree with them on the diagnosis of the problem.”

The Tea Party has already done damage to itself.  That's the problem.  They don't read and they don't believe in listening.  They're self-centered elitists who aren't real Americans and they're already going to lose elections.

Meanwhile, Jim Graves recently announced he's running again to challenge Michelle Bachmann for re-election in Minnesota's 6th Congressional District.  Considering Bachmann was within a hair of being defeated for re-election last November, I think she and the Tea Party better watch their hides.  They aren't going to have a good November 2014.

Medicare will pose quite a problem when seniors realize what's been proposed.

In the Administration's budget are deep cuts that DO affect seniors pocketbooks.  Not just providers or hospitals, etc.

That makes it a whole different ballgame.  Given these proposed cuts, Republicans can go to town on the "cuts to Medicare meme," and be relatively accurate.

That is, if we don't put a stop to these cuts.

So, there's quite a bit of work to be done before turning our attention to the 2014 election cycle.

You may not be aware of these cuts, but I assure you that many seniors ARE.

And don't forget--seniors are who mostly turn out for the midterms!
