    ...I think it's a way to guarantee churn.  Nobody, not even down to the lowest worker, has total control over their schedule.  Sooner or later, they'll call you when you can't come, and then out the door you go for good.

      I guess that's just as good an explanation as any.  Workers are so devalued that no one wants to pay for experience and it's easier just to bring in a constant stream of newbies off the street.  Morale is obviously never an issue when employees are "overhead" instead of human beings.
