    Thomas Jefferson was bloody smart. So was da Vinci. Isaac Newton was a genius, but he was also a king-sized asshole. I doubt that many of us could have survived being his roommate.

    Newton also fell for the alchemy claptrap. He wasted a lot of years trying to make gold when he could have been solving problems in math or physics.
