  •  The phrase is insulting to all (8+ / 0-)

It also contains the kind of arrogance and hubris likely to provoke the backlash it deserves.

Sheesh, the WWII generation is still voting.  The Boomers aren't exactly few in number.

And if I was a 40 something suburbanite and someone told me that an "ascendant" horde of African American and Hispanic youths were coming to take my retirement security, well, let's just say I'd not be thinking about voting for the Democratic Party.

This isn't just inciting generational warfare, this is aiming to exacerbate race and ethnic conflict.

    •  Which is exactly why we shouldn't be (4+ / 0-)

      falling for it.

This shit is starting to really piss me off. The Third Way wants to steal this party away from Regular People so badly, that it'll employ wordsmiths to invent divisive concepts in order to do it.

"The “Left” is NOT divided on the need to oppose austerity and the Great Betrayal. The Third Way is not left or center or even right. It is Wall Street on the Potomac."--Bill Black

    •  I wish we had the polling data, but (5+ / 0-)

I can tell you based on personal experience that a lot more poor kids (which means disproportionately black and brown kids) are acquainted with Social Security and how little it pays.

Poor kids are much more likely to lose a parent while minors, and get the meager survivors benefit.  They're also much more likely to be raised in whole or in party by Grandparents reliant on Social Security.

Clown shows is prattling about his "coalition", but all he's got is a top line number showing age.

I love you stupid fucking fucks. Now stop poking at the dead cat on the table and get back to the issues.
