    The most effective way to get a firm's attention is to just spread the word, virally if you can. When that happens effectively, customer satisfaction surveys begin to catch up with a firm's falling image, and that really gets their attention!

    It was a negative image perception that got John Schnatter (Papa John's Pizza) to back off of the Obamacare threats.

    Pressuring retailers is only somewhat effective, much less than a negative image found through customer surveys.

    (I don't mean, BTW, internal surveys done by the firms them selves, but industry-wide satisfaction surveys done by independent firms that retailers subscribe to.)
