  •  Bostonians are taking care of one another. (7+ / 0-)

Last night on MSNCS I saw Bostonian Lawrence O'Donnell talking with a Globe columnist who said basically "We're having a wake, all that other stuff comes later". Well, as the son of a Boston Irish mother, a native of Massachusetts and a former long-time Boston resident, I can tell you that's exactly what is going on. Looking after the wounded, looking after the dead, looking after each other.

Boston can be a very harsh place to live. People live in sardine cans, stacked on one another (and stacked in the subway) from West Roxbury to the North End. Like New York, you can go a whole day without paying any attention to anyone else at all, it's an art. But when sh*t goes down--a major storm, or something like this, Bostonians hang together like no place else.

I doubt very much, by the way, if Bostonians will accept long-term security theatre after this. Boston is a no-bullshit town.
