    Give me a break.

Sometimes five or ten percent of what you want is all you can get done.  It might not be much, but it's certainly better than nothing.  President Obama and our fellow Democrats cannot, nor should they, be blamed for recognizing, and acceding to, political realities...
Irrational Rationale #1: Putting out 5 or 10 percent of a house fire is better than not putting out the house fire, at all. Ummm....nope.

Whatever party's running the "fire department" gets fired, across the board.

Okay, so fire everyone if the fire truck gets there after the fire has already started, because they didn't save 100% of the house? Nice going. No firefighters left.

If they get there and there's only about 15 to 20% of the house LEFT to save, and my mother happens to be in that portion, fuck yeah saving a portion is better than none!

Oh yeah, and by the way, get my mom OUT and worry about the stupid house later!! I don't care if the whole goddamn thing burns down if it means rescuing her!

Also: I clean the lakes in my neighborhood when my body allows. It takes time and a lot of effort. I can't get every piece of trash, because some might be too large and heavy, or I might not see them, or they're too far out for me to reach and I'm not about to go swimming in a lake with cottonmouths and gators, thank you (aside from the physical limitations).

But by your weird logic, if I can't get 100% of it, I shouldn't bother. Or I should be given shit for not getting every bit.

SOME. THINGS. ARE. NOT. POSSIBLE. That goes for this President, as well. He's not a dictator, and even dictators can't walk on water.

So the only thing I see here that is irrational is your belief that everything we want, we should get. Not gonna happen.
