    Surprisingly.  Probably because she knew it wouldn't pass anyway.

      Normally, if a Senator is in a red (blue) state and it looks like the bill won't pass anyway, then they'll do the easy thing and vote the red (blue) position.  

      Landrieu did the harder thing and voted for the bill.  She should be commended.  If everytime a Senator votes the way we want, we question why she did it rather than simply giving her props, then she won't have much motivation to vote our way again the next time there's a tough vote that comes up.
