    ...IIRC it was moulded in yellow plastic and was one of the VERY early Airfix construction kits, the ones in the polythene bag, with an instruction sheet stapled to the top!

    It was first issued in 1957 (a Series 1 kit, #1400), and for its time was not all that bad.

      Craftmaster (US distributor) had placed in a box.  Didn't even try the rigging and I don't recall that it went together all that well.  Not that I had any real modeling skills at the time.  I think mine was grey (gray) and I slopped on a coat of Pactra Yellow enamel.
