  •  Remember though what the owner said... (8+ / 0-)
the plant that exploded filled out a form to the EPA and to local authorities that there was no fire risk involved at its plant. Even though it had 54,000 gallons on anhydrous ammonia on hand, it stated in its reports according to the online edition that the worst-case scenario was a 10-minute release of anhydrous ammonia that would kill or injure nobody.
Why would anyone in the general public think there would be an explosion?  From that far away, he probably thought he was staying at a safe distance.  He may have had friends or family working there and went to make sure they were okay.

We do not know what the parent was thinking but the real issue was what the owner was thinking when he filled out that report.  It should be treated as criminal negligence and criminal charges need to be filed.

further than it is. He was close.

That's the plant fence in the frame there.

It rubs the loofah on its skin or else it gets the falafel again.

      there would be an explosion?"

Well, it's a chemical plant. It's on fire.

That's all the information I need to determine that the chance of an explosion is above my comfort levels.

Then again, I'm also not the kind of person to go to the beach to look at the waves when a hurricane is approaching. I'm kind of attached to my life and limbs, I only have one and four of them respectively.

      Repeal the 2nd amendment.
