I was all for filibuster reform at the beginning of the legislative session when, in my opinion, it would have been well received in the eyes of voters, have translated into a lot of legislative progress.  Filibuster reform would have allowed Dems to ride the election wave, get items out of the Senate and pressure the House into doing something before House GOPers could dig their obstructionist foundations.

I'm not sure that's the case now.  The election wave has ebbed (if not flattened) and GOPers in the House are fairly emboldened in their obstructionist role.  I doubt that filibuster reform at this point would result in any meaningful legislation being passed.  Furthermore,  there is a really good chance that the GOP will have control of both the Senate and House in 2014.  Without the filibuster, you would see a lot of GOP legislation hitting Obama's desk and I'm not so confident that he would be willing to freely yield his veto powers.  So, the cost/benefit analysis seems pretty obvious here.
