    point that there was no law protecting white people from discriminaton. He doesn't even pretend to be a judge anymore. He is just a slightly thinner Ruch Limbaugh.

        for a rewrite of the law, if struck down. Just as affirmative action laws can be rewritten to be based on socioeconomic bases and become nearly Supreme-proof, the Voting Rights Act could be rewritten to be just say that areas where "reasonable access to voting by any group" (not race) "has been denied" must submit significant voting procedure changes to OCR.

        Now take this idea to pieces, it's OK with me. I'm just trying to keep an optimistic frame of mind.
