that we're last in women's voter turn out. That would make all the difference.  Wow.  If we can target that number, we can Virginia the patriarchal Republicans--they won't know what hit them.

        when I read that.

Now we know what we have to do.  And yes, they won't know what hit them!

      •  This is exactly what Hinojosa talked about (2+ / 0-)

when he spoke at our Comal Co Dem HQ grand opening.

He said we should target women voters right now, esp women who vote republican. All of us know some. Texas Republicans are so far off the rails on issues that women care about, that we should be able to win them over.

The strategy of winning over a key demographic of their voters while we work to bring out the Latino vote, is a good one, I believe.

And that strategy is not helped by front pagers trashing the state of Texas! Hell, even this MN farm girl has grown to love the state of Texas!

Hinojosa ended his speech by speaking of his love for the state of Texas.

          1. They think their vote doesn't count
          2. Since they're working two jobs and devoting all of their free time to keep their families from starving, they don't know/care what's happening in politics and assume it's all crooked anyway
          2. In order to keep their love for all the good things Texas offers flowing, they have conditioned themselves to completely
tuning out the Grand Guingol horror show constantly oozing from Austin.

          Just my .02.
