      kinda bad for the world. Not horrible. Not game over.

      If we want to save civilization we'll call for a 2-cent-per-gallon-gasoline-equivalent worldwide tax on fossil fuels earmarked specifically to go towards fusion research.

      The one thing that could save civilization while maintaining 7 billion humans and more.

      Also, Obama can institute a 55 mph national speed limit with the stroke of a pen -- Congress can fume all they want -- President says the national speed limit is 55, it's goddam 55.

      That would do two things:

      1) provably and objectively curtail carbon emmissions

      2) throw a shock to the system

      2 above being actually more important than 1.

      It rubs the loofah on its skin or else it gets the falafel again.
