    "Why did you do this? You could have done so much * good * with the capabilities you have to have to have done this. Why did you have to cause such suffering instead?" is always a valid response so far as I am concerned.

    It's not sympathy for the person who did a horrible thing. It's sympathy for the person he would have been if his life had gone differently, if he'd made different choices of who to listen to, if he'd made different choices about what to do.

    And that's what helps prevent future incidents, because it makes people think about what could have prevented something BEFORE there was even the beginning of something law enforcement could ever detect. It makes people think about how to keep other people from ever picking that path.

    Prayers and best wishes to those in Boston, in Texas, and for this week to be over without anything else happening.
