      Americans are pretty indifferent and often choose sound bites over educating themselves.  That's not just indicative of people in Texas.  If I was unclear in my original comment, I have no objection to diaries or comments that use what happened in West as a teachable moment.  Same goes for the many diaries and comments here about hurricanes, terror attacks, and everything else.  The comments that bothered me seemed to carry the implication that because these were Texans then they must have been teabaggers who wear their ideology on their sleeves and chose to put the facility where it was as some sort of statement.  The people of West were most likely oblivious, but that's not because they are from Texas.  It's true everywhere.
