  •  I think you and I both know that what I was (6+ / 0-)

objecting to were not reasoned arguments for zoning laws, but, rather, some ugly comments that came pretty close to saying they deserved what happened to them, because Texas.  The tone of the original diary was on the edge, and then several posters went over it.

You know, more Texans voted for President Obama than voted for both candidates in most states.  It's shitty to stereotype people.

Bring on the reasoned discourse about zoning laws, I'm all for them.

    •  I don't know what you objected to (0+ / 0-)

you responded to the diary.  And I don't see anything in the diary that is offensive.  Its as if people want to be offended by this stuff.  This is a big website and sometimes people are going to say offensive stuff.  There is absolutely no way to control it without infringing on the spirit of the website.

      •  Who seems to want to be offended by whom? (5+ / 0-)

A poster above - before I wrote my comment - in pondering that their Massachusetts town had strict zoning laws wondered where all the stupid people who didn't like them went.  I believe the implication was that the stupid people went to West or whatever.  That was the proximate cause of my comment, but there were also many that seemed to have a gleeful tone as if what happened were a joke ("Freedumb!" etc).  I didn't HR anyone, I didn't call out anyone by name, didn't write a GBCW diary, and I certainly didn't express a belief that I have a right to not be offended.  I was offended and I said as much.
