a progressive.  She's progressive on social issues, but is moderate on other issues.  She's against medicare for all, voted for CISPA, voted to give credit card companies free reign before the recession, a friend of big pharma and moderate on environmental issues.  She supports the Keystone XL and believes that fracking can be done friendlier with a smile.
She's far from progressive on most issues.  I won't be voting for her in the primary.  Most likely in the general, if she gets that far.  And I don't see her going that far because she's in a super safe district and can be seen as a "DC Insider" by many in the state.  I would like to see Wolfe  or McCord run.

    •  Thank you for the context (0+ / 0-)

It'll be an interesting race. I'm somewhat scared of McCord's background leading him to be bad on school funding and policy. I'm hopeful what ever D we can elect will dial down the bullshit with high stakes standardized tests and budget cuts.

I am from her district and I honestly don't see her going as far.  Democrats can win with someone from the Philadelphia or Pittsburgh areas - along as the name isn't Onorato.  She's never had a hard challenger and I don't think she's battle ready.  Wolf is a good candidate and business owner, but has never had that much experience in public office and McCord is a little too cozy with Comcast.

I agree with you on the high stakes testing.  It's shitty, but who will go against it?  I mean both parties support it and Obama is in bed with Duncan, who originally proposed the original Chicago School Closings, Rham Emanuel and Michelle Rhee.  If the leader of the party has those views, the non-progressives will fall in line.
